Lately, we have seen a few of our members, particularly beginners, show up to practice with a “fake” or substandard shinai or bokuto. Unfortunately, these items cannot be used in practice as they can be a potential hazard to you and to the people in the dojo.
In order to avoid these “fake” products and save you from wasting your money, we highly recommend that you buy equipment from the following list of Kendo suppliers online. The stores listed below have been used by our members and are known to sell shinai and bokuto that are fit for practice. Having said that, none of our members are affiliated with any of the stores listed and your experience may vary. Just pick your favorite store from the list if possible.
